Kristin achieved her BBA from Mississippi State University in 1996 and her MSM from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2001. Kristin began a successful career in sales and marketing in 1997 holding jobs in large business sales with BellSouth Mobility and BellSouth Business Systems. She is currently employed as the office manager at John David Blankenship, DO. Kristin is active in her community, and is passionate about health and fitness. She has completed numerous races including two marathons and multiple triathlons. Kristin was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer in 2009, and began to research her health concerns after learning that she has a rare disease known as "Cowden Syndrome."  She was relieved to have a diagnosis, yet overwhelmed wondering what would come next. She quickly realized that many physicians in her community had very little knowledge of Cowden Syndrome; that coupled with a lack of educational information about PTEN Hamartoma Tumor Syndrome motivated Kristin to start the PTEN Hamartoma Tumor Syndrome Foundation (PHTS Foundation) in 2013. As part of the PHTS Foundation team, Kristin works to raise funds for PHTS research, to educate the public about the PHTS, and the lack of research funding for this rare disease.  The PHTS Foundation is dedicated to providing assistance to our community.
